Originally from Upstate New York, Mrs. Blanchard relocated to Austin, TX after marrying her husband. She received her B.A. in Music and a minor in Theology from The Catholic University of America located in Washington, D.C. She is both a pianist and a vocalist. Mrs. Blanchard also took pedagogical music classes which taught her the basics for playing and teaching violin, trumpet, clarinet, and drums. Mrs. Blanchard loves being a music teacher and enjoys sharing the beauty of song, instrumentation, and music history, with the students at Cathedral. One of Mrs. Blanchard’s favorite things about teaching at Cathedral is directing the choir for Mass each Wednesday, which allows her to encourage extra singing with some of her students outside of class time. In her free time, Mrs. Blanchard enjoys sketching, baking, playing piano, and sometimes even napping. Mrs. Blanchard is so happy to be at Cathedral surrounded by such a wonderful community.
