Deacon Schroeder is the 2nd grade teacher at Cathedral School of Saint Mary. He has been teaching at CSSM for 23 years. He attended The University of South Dakota and received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Dcn. Schroeder has had numerous and varied teaching opportunities in Tanzania, East Africa and Bronx, New York. He has a Master’s degree in Divinity from the Maryknoll School of Theology and was a Fulbright-Hayes Scholar in 1977 in India. As a child, he attended St. Agnes Catholic School in Vermillion, South Dakota. While teaching at CSSM, he was ordained deacon in 2007. Dcn. Schroeder and his wife Maragwa have been blessed with two children; both are graduates of Cathedral School of Saint Mary! He enjoys reading, music, sports, traveling with his family, learning new languages, and experiencing different cultures.
